Texas Rangers History
Texas Rangers Baseball History In one of baseball's stranger moments, the original Washington Senators
left Washington in 1961 and became the Minnesota Twins. An expansion
team took the field in Washington and became the second Washington
Senators. The team won just 61 games in its first season and lost
at least 100 games in its first four seasons. In 1972, the team moved
to Arlington, Texas, and changed names to the Texas Rangers. The Rangers
have won four division titles, but they still have not won an American
League pennant or appeared in a World Series. President George W.
Bush, during his campaign, joked that his worst mistake in life was
trading Sammy Sosa to the White Sox when he was leading the team's
front office. TOP MANAGER MVPS CY YOUNG ROOKIE OF YEAR RETIRED NUMBERS
